A must-paint each summer during the plein-aire schedule (painting on sight). This is an iconic symble of Minneapolis, the huge Cherry & Spoon in Sculpture Garden. This day busloads of kids arrived, asked questions of the artists. It also drizzled rain all morning, so you can actually see some raindrops on the texture of the painting.
: I paint in a different styles, from realistic to whimsical, loose and intuitive, without a photo reference. Working form my imagination, the process is playful and energetic, and the painting is often humorous. I also enjoy painting portraits of people and animals, using the style of your choice, and love to capture the personality or mood of the subject.
